When two Belgian sisters set out to create a vibrant, wellness-focused café inspired by their love of California’s laid-back lifestyle, they sought out a California native who truly understood the aesthetic, energy, and culture they hoped to bring to life. That’s where SSStudio came in.

Cafe Loma is the first of its kind in Belgium — a plant-forward, all-day super food café blending on-the-go convenience with quality, wellness with style. From strategy to launch, I led the complete 360° creation of the brand. We began with in-depth brand strategy to define their vision and values, which laid the foundation for naming, storytelling, and visual identity. The name Cafe Loma evokes the warmth and elevation of the California hills, while the brand aesthetic blends sun-soaked color palettes, handmade type, and organic textures to bring that West Coast magic to Northern Europe.

Our work extended beyond the digital and into the physical: designing the interior of the space to match the brand's laidback, coastal energy, and carrying the look across all printed materials, merchandise, and packaging — creating a seamless, immersive brand experience at every touchpoint.

Since launch, Cafe Loma has quickly become a viral hit — embraced by the local community and social media influencers alike. It’s not just a café, but a destination, proving that when strategy, story, and design align with right creative partner to bring it to life, a brand can truly elevate every day.
